The Accent Method is widely used in the UK and Europe in speech pathology, particularly in breathing control and in stuttering. It is increaingly used by singing teacher and their student in regulating breath, diapragm and posture for enhanced singing performance. The two authors are extremely well qualified and well known and are regular speakers on the sincing circuit around the world. This is a totally practical book that begins by putting the subject matter into an anatomical context and reviewing and critiquing teaching practices through the last half century given what is increasingly known about the human voice. Thereafter, it covers exercise regimes to suit individual's needs in performing excellence. With colour illustrations, and photographs demonstrating correct technique, this is a book that will be an immediate hit; it has been long sought after and very little else has been written.
